After last year's epic week at Hilda Hut a group of us went back for another week this year. Last year the snow was perfect... stable and deep when we arrived, with a 25 cm reset mid-week. This year we arrived after almost two weeks of no new snow ands days of high winds in the alpine. Surprisingly, we were still able find some good lines to ski and the bluebird days made for some great tours. The super-comfortable lodge with sauna and wood-fired hot-tub, cold beer in hand, enhanced the ambiance.

Climbing up towards Mount McBride.

Heading down to Windy Lake. The run starts out gentle but quickly rolls off to consistently steep slopes.
Mount Woden is the pointy peak left of centre.

Wind scouring the ridge of Mount Hilda.

For most of the week, the weather was sunny, sunny, sunny.

Heading up one of the many alpine bowls surrounding Hilda Hut.

Skinning back up from valley bottom of Burton Creek there are same magnificent old-growth cedars.

The moon rising in the late-day mist.
