  • BD Custom vs Scarpa TRace vs Alpina Crispi X-R Yellow

Hi, Are there any views on the virtues of these high-end stiffer boot offerings? I am a mondo 30 and there are some deals around on all 3 of these.

Which binding and skis will they be paired up with?

I skied the purple customs a few times last year (with vices on G3 rapid transits and axls on liberty helix) after finding a good deal on them. I found them to be too much boot, at least out of the box. On groomers, they were great when i wanted to carve big GS turns. But in softer snow, i found them to be too stiff. They also feel like a big, tall, heavy alpine boot. The BOA liners are great.

I'm coming from ener-g's and then (75mm) voodoos. 6', 200 lbs, fairly good telemarker. I went back to my (falling apart after a few seasons) voodoos.

I'll probably try them again early this season a few days to see if they soften with a little more use.

I will be skiing them with hammerheads or bishops on some bigger skis. I'm 6'2" and 225 lbs.

          orchep,

Describe your foot. Length x width x height.

For reference, see Getting the right volume boot.

          ain't no turn like tele!
