Just a quick note on posting etiquette. You were correct to assume that a question on boots should start in the boot section. However, there isn't as much traffic here as say, TGR, so I recommend (okay, this move means I insist) ALL relevant topics to backcountry skiing START in the general Bar & Grill. That way they get more eyeballs and you'll get more response.

The dedicated subject forums and sub-forums are, at this moment in time, more for archival purposes so if you were looking for existing threads on a boot subject, you could more easily find it by manually browsing for it. I'll move your thread back there when it is no longer current and active.

IF this forum ever gets so popular that relevant topics get lost at the B&G, then I'll switch protocol to what you assumed was the right thing to do. Hope you understand.
