I don't have a dog, but I ran a trail running race yesterday down in Wyoming that was open to dogs on leashes. I love running with dogs: they are 100% stoke the whole race....and I'll be running along hearing the panting behind me...and we get to scramble sections and the 4wd on the dogs just takes over.

WOW - avalanche and burial on round top! Super glad that person is ok, but wow. scary.
Toured solo from Carson Pass towards Round top peak. Traveling was easy with wind packed and firm snow surface almost the entire way to Lake Winnemucca. I traversed around the east side of the lake and linked a series of bowls and terraces below the Sierra crest and approaching the north east bowls of Round Top Peak. No avalanche activity or signs of instability were observed including during steeper uphill ski cuts while climbing. The snow was firm amd chalky on the surface. Climbing up to the north east bowl on Round Top showed the same conditions.

pretty rare to be able to self extract after a full burial, guy was lucky!
mchin, I like Ralston better after the fire!
Lucy and I are up this weekend. She will be getting verts with a heavy pack in preparation for her Canada ski tour and I will be doing some mellow touring to rehab the knee and associated muscles. We're in Meyers, give a ring if you are around.

Hey Mark sorry I missed ya hope your new knee got to enjoy this snow!
Just checking in now after 6 of the best days of skiing of the year, amazing snow and the fattest snow pack I’ve ever seen. It’s been ski eat sleep repeat. Much needed rest day tomorrow as the next storm rolls in.
this is from yesterday 6000 feet and every turn was great.
