I may have to get a newer desktop computer though, with Windows 7 64 bit. All the Video Editing programs I use (SONY Vegas Pro) are moving to 64 bit OS. Being able to use 12 or 16 GB of memory for video rendering would be nice.Last edited by chamonix; 9 April 2014, 05:54 PM.

On the other hand, anyone running XP is overdue for a new box regardless. Think about it: 2x to 4x the memory, 2x to 4x the disk space, 2x to 4x the speed, support for all sorts of devices that didn't exist when XP came out, for maybe 2/3 the cost of the old XP box, which is probably closer to a hard disk failure than you think. And your 7- to 10-year-old Windows apps will still run on the new machine, even though you should upgrade that stuff as well (the new video editing software version will actually support iPhone's video format, think of that).
