  • Vancouver ttipers . . err, eyters, gathering at Steamworks?

I was too late to throw it out on ttips.

Is it time to gather at Steamworks to snub Scotsman? I may even put on skis this year.

    Or not.

err...that'd be BCTalkers (not eyt'ers - too difficult to say and spell check always wants to make it YET).

Here's hoping you get those skis on this year!

    ain't no turn like tele!

      BCTalkers it is.

I sure hope to get out. If it falls into place I'll have something to say about Vector BC's.

You missed our recent get together at that very spot with Lone Telemarker and Willeke. I'm up for another session, maybe in early October when we're closer to ski season.

You'll love those Vector BC's - trust me.... Or is that the reason you didn't get out - do tell!!

I'd propose the Brassneck Brewery on Main St., which just opened last week. By all accounts, the beer is fantastic, and one of the co-owners is Conrad Gmoser, former Steamworks brewmaster, and member of a legendary skiing family. I'm pretty sure he drops a knee when making turns.

Oh yeah? Conrad's a skier? I drank some of his garage brew at a par-tay his wife threw for her co-workers. The Lager was memorable enough for a 2nd take.......and 3rd..and 4th, and so on..........

Well, the 3, 8 and 19 all go up Main Street from Science World station for those skytraining in who don't want to walk the 6 or so blocks.

But really, do we want to patronize an establishment catering to the riffraff living in the Mt Pleasant area?

Riff-raff I can deal with (you rub shoulders with them on the 3, 8, and 19).
Hipsters, not so much. Someone should case the joint.

Since I live right around there, I suppose I could.

OK - Enough pussy-footing around. I'm up for a "walk on the wild side" on the scuzzy side of town. How about next Thursday the 17th or the next week on the 24th at 7.00PM.

In deference to twopass I'll wear a toque to mask my newly close shaved back and side with immaculately parted hair and park my fixie well away from the entrance so he doesn't have to look at my magenta tires.

Either day is good for me.

Went to the Turkey sale today, may even get on the slopes this year.

                          Dark, of course.

                          24th gets my revised vote

Hey guys, Old Grampa Nick has forgotten his password and can't access the site. Or maybe he remembers his password and has forgotten to access the site. He doesn't remember. It sad to see such a fine mind idle itself into nothingness. Once he even remembered his children's names...

Anyway, he was supposed to update all of you on this thread. But he didn't. Or maybe he did but forgot to. He really doesn't know.

Great minds think alike. We were trying to arrange a beer night at the same time. Colin is away until the 24th, so we'd settled on Tuesday the 26th at Steamworks, just because it's very convenient to North Shore and Sky Train. No driving needed. See you there at 7pm

7PM. I hope everyone can make it.
