That is a frightening fracture. That is big terrain up there. Best to the survivors.

Preliminary reports indicate that the two deceased were visiting from Wisconsin. Both were males in the their late-twenties to early thirties. The slide was on Star Peak just east of Independence Pass near La Plata. Big terrain and "considerable" advisory from the CAIC result in another human triggered slide. Cold overnight temps and some wind resulted in lots of reports of big slabs. Prayers and thoughts going out to the friends and loved ones of the two men who lost their lives.
