Ages 6-14, though younger kids would be welcome if they've got alpine experience and are comfortable sliding on snow!

Age wise, Ned is up for anyone, and is fine with mixed groups. Last year, because numbers were a bit low, we had a few adults mixed in and it was fine. So older kids are welcome, but gear-wise, Ned's boots only go up to size 26.5. Anything larger than that would have to be borrowed, or rented from Mountain Gear in Spokane.

Giving this a bump, as the kids' tele clinic is coming up this weekend, Jan 11-12. The numbers are still pretty low, but we're hoping more registrations come in this week. Still in need of more snow out here, but 49 has done a great job keeping things in good shape on the mountain. There'll be a bunch of other fun things going on next weekend as part of 49's Winter Sports Fest, including free trail passes at the nordic center, alpine demos, & live music Saturday night. thx for any help getting the word out!

Well, the kids telemark clinic was .... interesting. Cancelled on Saturday due to an absolutely wild weather day up on the mountain -- pouring rain, power outage, super high wind gusts throughout the morning, and a cell tower got blown over up on Chewelah Peak. We finally got up on the mountain around 1pm and skied some of the worst conditions ever. A frozen crust to kill, chunks of crap everywhere. Survival skiing. Ha! The grooming staff at 49 worked wonders overnight, though, and Sunday was decent on the groomers.

Small turnout in the end, just four kids, but it was a gas! Kids had a great time, and they left begging for more.

Many thanks to the folks at 49 Degrees North for hosting, and to Tele Ned for coming all the way out to Spokane to teach. Hoping we’ll be able to hold the clinic again next year.
