      Not ANOTHER Bacon thread....! There's a growing movement around here to ban those who post about bacon...be very careful.

        sorry to hear he still plans to build the Kachina lift- the hike-to is what makes Taos fun for me

          People said that about the North Face and then the High Lift at Crested Butte when they put those in.
          I have to say I like being able to do laps on those lifts but we have other hike-to terrain if I want something a little more exclusive.
          Maybe Taos will add something else to fill the niche.

                With this guy's story I would think he would be smart enough to look at the books closely before deciding to make an investment like stringing that lift. That kind of capital expenditure seems hard to justify. I'd think they could start by cutting all their old lift towers out generally giving the place a little face lift before dropping that kind of coin on more "expert" terrain. Taos Ski Valley is a special place. I hope it stays that way.
