Okay, partway there. The hard limit on photos has been overcome so you can upload images now. Other issues yet to be resolved. For the moment the BEST way to do photos is via a link to an external server like jibmaster did in his Coastal Crest Snow Patrol thread.
The GOAL is to enable a lightbox function (theoretically indigenous to this version of vBulletin) where images can be posted in 3 basic sizes - thumbnail (150px), medium (300px), or large (800px) and will zoom out to full size (max 1200px) when you click on them. But the back end s/w is not cooperating at the moment and it only communicates via convoluted geekspeak (aka the vBulletin Manual).
Making a bit of progress here. I see that many of you have figured out what is available. For the moment, the BEST option is to have an external photo account, like Flickr, to host your photos and control the size. Not sure if the internal controls on this site modify the display of externally linked images since I've been testing the way vBulletin allows you to upload directly from your computer and store on the host server for this forum.
As a regular, registered user the image above can be displayed, but - so far - it doesn't allow ANY variation in the display size.
Same image, but now displayed as a Medium (300 px) sized image....
or as a Thumbnail (150px)...
In either case, if you are registered and logged in, when you click on the image, it should expand using a lightbox function to "full" size (1200px max).
If you are not registered, or registered but not logged in, it may expand as a new photo only page. If you're using Safari, or Firefox, it may not allow you to see anything other than the code indicating there is an image, but you can't see it. I suspect that is hardwired and the only realistic way past not seeing images is to join the forum.
I'm trying to figure out how to provide the same level of control to everyone.
...could you please remove the limit of 4 pictures per post??
Not a chance. I did that so threads with lots of photos will not load the server with one big spike, but lots of smaller ones...so it becomes visible faster. Okay?
