  • Biggest gripe with NTN freedom: the spring options

Have to complain a bit. It's a great binding, but I fall into the 25.5 Scarpa that puts me in the small binding category. It wouldn't be an issue, but the only purchasing option is with the green powerbox. I found it had a fantastic flex in soft snow last season, but it really lacks on chopped/variable/hardpack. Wouldn't mind buying a blue box, but they cost 70 for the product and 20 to ship from Canada

Just curious if anyone else has had the same complaints. Drives me nuts considering the 75mm offerings had such a variety of inexpensive options that were often built into the binding themselves.

Yes, I had same problem. Size 25.0 TxPro, weigh 170 lbs. Green springs required setting on about 3.5. Didn't feel right. Seemed like I gave up too much spring travel.

Spent the money to buy Blue springs. Run them on 1.5 setting. Vastly improved.

As usual I'm the opposite, I'd like lighter springs. \\Anyone have any trick or tip to get a lighter feeling than Green springs fully backed out?

Guess I'll just have to drop for the blues. Has anyone taken apart the powerbox? Might be possible to dissect and find a lighter spring in there?
