  • That first Snow Feeling

There's just something about it. You know it will be gone again in a couple of days but it is the siren song we are all drawn to. The brown of Fall is replaced by the wonder that only snow can provide.

We're getting our first tonight. A couple of inches. Not much but enough to get out for a tour on the grassy areas. All I know is I look out the window and can't help but feel like a kid again.
    Eshew obfuscation.

You said it. How sweet it is.

I love crossing meadows after the first light snowfall. It brings out all these tiny stalks of meadow orbs that one would never otherwise notice, with intricate seed pods, tiny delicate things delicately rising above the snow. I'd have taken some pics from my first trip of the season (the one where I fell and got grass in my ear) but it would have required bending down.

P.S. I have no idea whether they are "orbs" or if "orbs" is even a word, but it sounded good.

Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is gray and yellow, white
But we decide which is right
        And which is an illusion

My 5 y.o. awoke today and had a huge, excited smile on his face from the new snow on the trees. He was disappointed when we got to town and there was no snow at that elevation, but he assured me that winter is still his favorite season!
            Yay!...(Drool)

Baaahb wouldn't it have been a good time to take the photo while you were down? And the grass, isn't it supposed to be smoked, er ingested through the mouth?

"forb" ... I was close. Webster: forb - any herb that is not a grass. Man, this is confusing, I'm not quite sure what I smoked.
