Nice. I have one but I don't really have any good photos of it. I'll work on that...

I guess a uni is a type of fixie. Good on ya NB for riding one. I've tried one a few times and it's difficult to say the least. Not to thread jack too badly, but I rode one of those old timer big wheel bikes, a Hiwheel I think they're called, last summer. They're also fixed gear btw.

If riding a fixie is all about "purity" of purpose, ya can't get much purer than a uni.

Sans Chain, one wheel, crank drive.

I actually have a coaster (freewheel) unicycle, but it is so incredibly hard to ride that it is mostly a novelty.

I had a fixie 1 x 1 mtb for a while, but didn't ride it much because I mostly ride muni, so I passed it on to my son's buddy; it has a Surly flip flop hub.

If by Fixie you mean a bike you ride that requires constant fixing... this is mine.

I did a three day White Rim trip with a guy on a fixie MTB once. About halfway through he was regretting it!

But the "purity" of it makes it worth it....

                        That was not his conclusion.
I like to ride my fixie because it's fun. If I was really into purity I'd only run naked.

What makes it fun? I mean any more than riding any bike?

It's fast, silent, good for track stands, and makes my easy and flat daily commute a little more interesting.
Once the roads get snow packed I'll switch to my winter commuter (old rigid single speed MTB with fenders and studs). Riding the fixie on slippery roads is not fun!

Thanks, I've been curious as to why they are suddenly popular again.
