Just spent a few minutes helping someone determine the recommended mounting point for a pair of BD's Carbon Megawatt. It seems awfully far back. Yes, I know it has a lot of rocker in the tip, and if you look at the contact points for the sidecut the position looks pretty centered relative to those two points, but it has so much rocker in the tip I'm having a hard time believing the recommended mounting point is good. Anyone have any personal experience with this ski and BD's recommended mounting position? BTW - it would be for locked heel skiing.

What year? They moved the midsole line 2.5cm forward for the 2012 model from where the 2011 line was according to the literature. Don't know about the newest incarnation.

Already downloaded BD's specs (same as the link you provided) and followed their directions. It STILL looks too far back.
To answer your question - this year's skis. I'm looking for input from someone who owns a pair of megawatts and thought the same thing and either followed BD's directions and is/was satisfied, or didn't and is/was satisfied.

Well can't help you there but I can say the 11/12 Justice (same specs as 12/13) skis well with NTN mounted on the recommended line for alpine even though the tele mount was recommended at 4 cm back from the line.Last edited by 3PinGrin; 23 October 2013, 10:41 PM.Comment

Thanks. That's the sort of feedback I was looking for. I have a BD Aspect (4 yrs old) but that isn't a twin or rockered ski so I trust the recommended mounting point. The twins or skis with rocker front and back make me nervous. Not a big fan. Fun to ski in the right conditions, but I'm old and traditional and slow to adopt and all that. Prefer a small quiver and adapting to conditions with technique, not technology.
