That's a big ouch for Cavendish! I figure that, being a tough mofo, he will ride back into health in a week.

With so many elite riders out the race will be ripe for the upsart to snatch it away from the likes of Contador.

Nibali, Costa and a few others could fill such a role...but can Contador prevent that? I am thinking his best days are behind him but who knows, maybe he has another tour win in him?

Update: Contador rode 20K before accepting the fact that a Broken Tibia is honorable grounds to abandon this year's tour. He did not ride at all slowly after getting back on the bike, he rode hard but was forced to admit that even he could not continue with a fracking broken leg!

Nice race, RRM. Like the race itself, NIbali's dominance was the difference. That and Talanksy whipping out after a few high speed falls.
