Was riding my road bike today and noticed lots of activity and huge thunderous shock waves emanating from the massive, creeping Damanche debris pile bridged over the Lowe River. Super warm day added to the dramatic collapse. I scampered up the hillside for a better view and video Rare to see a debris pile calving into a river.
It's less than 3m.
In a matter of a few hours all that was left was this massive, vertical wall of avalanche debris. There's a DOT person on the road.
